In this master’s degree you will discover the tools in molecular biology, bioinformatics and genetics that are helping to make huge improvements in crop plants with the aim of producing more sustainably and healthier food in a context of global change, and in the biotechnological production of drugs and other active compounds with technological applications in the bio-health and agri-food sectors. 
The master’s degree includes a carefully balanced number of university lecturers and researchers thanks to a joint organisation by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the Universiy of Barcelona (UB) and the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (IRTA-CSIC-CRAG). 
The master’s degree is offered 100% in English and includes students from across the globe.

Admission Requirements

Graduates in the fields of Biology, Environmental Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Agricultural and/or Forest Engineering, Food Engineering and Technology or equivalent qualifications.


Knowledge of English (at least level B2 of the CEFR). In the event of not having documentary proof, students can request a comprehension and expression test from the master’s committee in Plant Biology, Genomics and Biotechnology.
