DEPARTMENT OF GEOMATICS ENGINEERING
Our department was established to train technical staff with the title of Geomatics Engineer who have knowledge to undertake tasks effectively for development of our country. Gümüşhane Engineering Faculty was established on 03.07.1992 depending on the Blacksea Technical University, our department is the one of five departments established within Gümüşhane Engineering Faculty. Geomatics Enginering is the 3rd department started actual training after the Civil Engineering and Geological Engineering.
In the 2003-2004 academic year our department started 32 students educations with 2 lecturer. KTU Engineering Faculty Geomatics Engineering department has been a great support in educational activities since its establisment. In 2008 with establishment of Gümüşhane University department of Geomatics Engineering has been connected to Gümüşhane engineering Faculty. After establishment of Gümüşhane University our department has attempted to change the name of department and with the 06.05.2009 dated no.2059 decision of the High Education Authority it was changed to "Geomatics Engineering".
2nd cycle program was opened with the 24.04.2009 dated no.1978 decision of the High Education Authority and decided to start acceptance of students for 2009-2010 academic year.
