It was deemed appropriate to open Gümüşhane University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Philosophy within the Faculty of Letters, with the proposal of Gümüşhane University Rectorate, at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting dated 25/01/2012. The Department started to accept students for the "Undergraduate" program since 2014-2015; Starting from the 2020-2021 period, it has started accepting students for the "Philosophy Thesis Master's Program". Within the department, there are "History of Science," "Systematic Philosophy and Logic," "History of Philosophy" and "Turkish-Islamic Philosophy and History of Thought" departments; There are currently three Assoc. Dr., two Dr. Lecturer Member, a Res. See. Dr. continues to work with.
