• Department of Developmental Psychology

• Department of Social Psychology

• Department of Applied Psychology

Modern psychology, defined as the science of mind and behavior, has their origins in Germany in the 19th century. The experimental psychology laboratory established by Wilhelm Wundt in Leipzig is considered to be the beginning of modern psychology. It has been stated by the American Psychological Association (APA) that there are many different subfields of psychology. Some of them are developmental psychology, social psychology, and clinical psychology.

Mission

As Gümüşhane University Department of Psychology, our main mission in education is to train individuals who have theoretical knowledge about mind and behavior of living things,in research is to train individuals who can think originally and critically, and can carry out qualified scientific studies in accordance with universal ethical principles.

Vision

As Gümüşhane University Psychology Department, our vision is to be a department accepted as the pioneer of the psychology world in the national and international arena; adopting the innovative, productive, pioneering and ethical values required by the global world; benefiting the field of education and research.
