Our Health Management Thesis Master's Program, which is a part of the Graduate School of Education at Gümüşhane University, started accepting students from the Fall Semester of the 2020-2021 Academic Year. Our Health Management Non-Thesis Master's Program, on the other hand, began admitting students from the Fall Semester of the 2021-2022 Academic Year.

Degree Earned

Upon successful completion of the program and meeting the program competencies, students will be awarded a Master's degree in the field of Health Management.

Admission Requirements

Thesis Master's Program

Students who wish to enroll in the master's program must have completed the university's academic and legal requirements and passed the exams within the framework set by YÖK (Higher Education Council). The admission criteria and application procedures are announced on the website of the Graduate School of Education at Gümüşhane University before the start of each academic semester (Gümüşhane University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations).

Applicants for the master's program must, first and foremost, possess a Bachelor's degree, and they must also have a valid minimum score on the Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES).

Transition to Higher Levels

Graduates who successfully complete the master's program can apply for doctoral programs, both in their own fields and in multidisciplinary areas, provided they achieve the required score in the ALES exam and meet the English language proficiency criteria.

Graduation Requirements

To obtain a master's degree in the field of Health Management, students must complete 21 credits (equivalent to 120 ECTS), earn at least a grade of CB, maintain a weighted average of at least 2.5 out of 4.0, and prepare and successfully defend a master's thesis in front of a jury.

Employment Opportunities for Graduates

Graduates from the Health Management Department can work as health managers in various fields, including hospital administration, healthcare service organizations, health finance, and health insurance. They can also pursue academic careers by working as lecturers in university departments related to health management.

A student who successfully completes the program can apply for a doctoral degree in other fields that admit students from this area.

Assessment and Evaluation

Students are subject to mid-term exams and end-of-semester exams for each course. The grading is based on a contribution of 40% from the mid-term exam and 60% from the end-of-semester exam. All exams are evaluated on a scale of 100 points. A minimum of 50 points in the end-of-semester exam is required to pass a course. Students who receive the grades AA, BA, BB, or CB in a course are considered to have passed that course.
