In the health care service system in Indonesia, the pharmaceutical profession (Pharmacist) is an absolute component that is still very much needed to improve people's quality of life. Increasing the role and function of pharmacists, both in quality and quantity, is very necessary because the need for pharmacists in Indonesia will not stop. Brawijaya University, as one of the tertiary institutions that has a Faculty of Medicine, feels called to organize a Bachelor of Pharmacy education program at the Faculty of Medicine in order to meet the needs/expectations of society and the country.
The Chancellor formed a working group tasked with preparing for the opening of the Bachelor of Pharmacy Program through the Chancellor's assignment letter number: 267/J10/KP/2007. This working group is tasked with creating and compiling a proposal for opening an undergraduate study program at the Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University. The educational activities of the Pharmacy Study Program were officially held in the 2009/2010 Academic Year based on Chancellor's Decree No. 252/SK/2009 dated July 1 2009 and confirmed by Higher Education Decree No. 228/D/O/2010 as one of the study programs under the Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University.
