The Plant Pathology Master's Study Program was established in 2017 with scientific focus in the field of phytopathology. Phytopathology is the science that studies plant diseases, disease causes, diagnosis, physiology of diseased plants, factors that influence disease outbreaks, and management of plant diseases.

The Plant Pathology Master's study program aims to become a superior study program with international standards and play an active role in the development of science, technology and innovation in plant disease management towards sustainable agriculture.

This study program provides international standard plant pathology master's education and develops and disseminates science and technology in the field of plant pathology. In 2018, this study program collaborated with the Department of Phytopathology and Microbiology, National Taiwan University (NTU) and National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) in the double degree program.
