The Undergraduate Program of Regional and Urban Planning (UPRUP) at Brawijaya University's Faculty of Engineering was established in 2006 under Decree No. 109/DIKTI/Kep/2005 by the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. Accredited with an A rating in 2015 (Decree No. 004/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/I/2015), UPRUP attained Accreditation Excellence on September 21, 2021 (Decision No. 10959/SK/BAN-PT/AK-ISK/S/IX/2021). UPRUP aspires to become an institution fostering globally competitive graduates proficient in innovative planning methodologies, supporting sustainable urban-rural integration.
Among its initiatives is the pioneering of smart urban-rural development through practical projects and case studies within Indonesia's planning framework, encompassing urban physical spatial aspects, technological advancements, policy, and environmental dimensions, including remote sensing applications. The curriculum emphasizes effective methods through tailored information systems for urban and rural management. UPRUP seeks graduates equipped with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and methodologies in planning, demonstrating autonomy, quality, and the ability to assess the implications of advancements in knowledge and technology.
