According to PwC’s Global Entertainment and Media Outlook, the global gaming industry is set to rise to $321 billion. It’s also driving up demand for the metaverse and next generation digital immersive experiences.

Accredited by BCS, the Chartered Institute for Information Technology, this Computer Science with Game Design degree capitalises on the growing demand for user experience technology. Drawing on our expertise across two academic disciplines, it combines a solid foundation in traditional computer science with the creative aspects of successful games development.

You’ll gain practical experience of developing systems using the latest technologies and techniques in our cutting-edge media and computing facilities and mixed reality environments. Learning how computer games are built and work, you’ll create – and play – games in a variety of different formats, from 2D and 3D platforms to board games and collectable card games.

The BCS-accredited BSc (Hons) Computer Science with Game Design teaches you the fundamentals of computer science, advanced programming and game design skills.

To boost your employability, we place a strong emphasis on real-world learning, problem-solving and developing your professional and ethical conduct, equipping you with highly sought-after personal, practical and theoretical skills.

Our status as an Oracle Academy institutional member gives you access to world-class technology and software. Close links with the computer industry, including Wales’s first dedicated science park, M-Sparc, provide opportunities to work on ‘live’ industry briefs and hear from current practitioners.

BCS accreditation is the benchmark for quality in the technology industry. It not only enables you to pursue Chartered IT Professional (CITP) status on graduation, but you can also join as a student member. This enables you to connect with the IT community and build your professional network to give your career a head start.
