The programme has been designed for health professionals who wish to study at an advanced level to increase their knowledge, skills and attributes so that they can contribute to modern day health and social care challenges. The modernisation of the NHS and the extended role of the professional requires the professional to be a flexible, competent professional practitioner who is able to use complex decision making skills and has a wide knowledge base.

  • Registered professional (HCPC, NMC, GPhC or equivalent).
  • 2(ii) Honours degree or equivalent professional qualification, or 3 years professional experience with demonstrable ability to study at Level 7.
  • Mature student status.
  • Credit transfer and Accreditation for Prior Experiential Learning (maximum 40 credits at Level 7) will be possible. If credit transfer is sought for taught research methods modules, then this should have been completed within the last 5 years.
