Whether you are a beginner or more advanced learner, you will learn and develop your competence in writing, speaking and comprehension in one of the core modern languages we offer at Bangor University – French, or Spanish.
As a society, our fascination, curiosity and concern about criminal behaviour, crime and its connection to our daily lives is partly what draws so many people to study criminology. As well as examining what causes people to commit crime and how they respond to punishment and other deterrents, studying Criminology and Criminal Justice provides practical knowledge and understanding of how the criminal justice system works.
Our staff have expertise in translation, film, literature, travel writing, performance, visual cultures, popular culture, socio-political change and transnational cultures. Our strong links with criminal justice agencies locally, nationally and internationally provide opportunities for direct experience. Previously, students have heard lectures from Greater Manchester and North Wales Police and volunteered at Victim Support. This also ensures your learning reflects contemporary debate around issues such as excessive police force or drug-related crime.
The year abroad is fantastic preparation for today’s multilingual, multicultural world of work. You can add a second year abroad via the ‘International Experience’ option. Using your language skills in real-life situations not only increases your proficiency, but also boosts your confidence, independence and resilience.

Offers are tariff based, 104-128 tariff points from Level 3 qualifications* e.g.:
We are happy to accept combinations of the qualifications listed above, as well as alternative Level 3 qualifications such as City & Guilds, Access and Cambridge Technical Diplomas.
We also welcome applications from mature learners.
International Candidates: International Candidates: school leaving qualifications that are equivalent to A levels/Level 3 and/or college diplomas are accepted from countries worldwide (subject to minimum English Language requirements). More information can be found on our International pages.
