On this Law with Politics degree, you’ll gain an in-depth understanding of the contemporary legal and political issues that shape our lives and society and the relationship between these two interconnected disciplines.

The law dictates the structure, accountability and governance of our country and its regions, but it also provides the essential tool with which government can control, protect, and implement change within society.

As you progress on the degree, you’ll enjoy the flexibility to tailor your degree to your interests and aspirations through an exciting array of specialised modules in fields like international law, family law, medical law, and emerging technologies. You can also choose to explore more vocational subjects tested in the Solicitors’ Qualifying Examinations (SQE) - such as Business Law, Wills and Estates, and Property Practice - providing you with a gateway to professional training to become a solicitor.

At Bangor University, we bring the study of law to life. Take part in mock trials, internal moots in English and Welsh, visit law firms, judicial institutions, and government institutions. You'll also have the chance to hear from practising lawyers, legal experts, and specialist law firms.

We prioritise your employability by embedding essential, transferrable skills from day one, including research abilities, analytical thinking, active listening, confident communication, and the ability to form sound arguments.

As well as the courts service, law commission, solicitors’ firms and barristers’ chambers, graduates from this School work in local and national government, universities, research institutes, the United Nations, citizens advice, banks, armed forces, and emergency services – everywhere from the UK and Africa to America and China.
