This accelerated LLB enables you to complete your law degree in two years rather than the standard three if you have previously obtained a higher education qualification or have equivalent professional experience.

By completing this course, you can then either continue your training as a solicitor or barrister or use the general intellectual and legal skills you acquire to pursue a wide range of other careers within or outside the legal profession.

At Bangor University, we bring the study of law to life. Take part in mock trials, internal moots and visit law firms, judicial institutions, and government institutions. You can also get the chance to hear from practising lawyers, legal experts, and specialist law firms. Extra-curricular activities from our active student-run Law Society include the popular ‘LawSoc balls’ and trips to law fairs.

This course not only meets the academic requirements for qualification as a barrister (Bar Standards Board compliant), but also provides essential knowledge for aspiring solicitors. Amongst an attractive array of modules, you can also choose vocational subjects tested in the Solicitors’ Qualifying Examinations (SQE) - such as Business Law, Wills and Estates, and Property Practice - providing you with a gateway to professional training to become a solicitor.

Ideally suited to those with a previous higher education qualification or equivalent professional experience, on this accelerated LLB, you are taught the same core legal modules as the three-year LLB, with the option to participate in seminars and tutorials in Welsh should you wish to.

We prioritise your employability by embedding essential, transferrable skills from day one, including research abilities, analytical thinking, active listening, confident communication, and the ability to form sound arguments – skills that position you for success in any career path.

Our graduates have excelled not only in solicitors' firms, barristers' chambers, the courts, and the Law Commission but also in a wide range of fields such as local and national government, academia, research institutes, the United Nations, media, finance, the armed forces, and emergency services worldwide.
