Study French or Spanish on this Modern Languages degree - explore the history, arts and culture of countries where those languages are spoken, and spend one or two years abroad.
You can focus your degree on one language – French or Spanish or enhance your multilingualism by learning both languages. At the same time, you can also explore historical and cultural aspects relating to your chosen language and the communities that speak it, such as film, contemporary issues or politics.
The year abroad is fantastic preparation for today’s multilingual, multicultural world of work. You can add a second year abroad via the ‘International Experience’ option. Using your language skills in real-life situations not only increases your proficiency, but also boosts your confidence, independence and resilience. You’ll graduate with transferrable skills in communication, translation, presentation, problem solving, research, analysis, teamworking, adaptability, resilience, and people.
