The objective of the doctoral training is to train teacher-researchers who master the tools and means of communication and expression, and who are capable of teaching courses and graduation courses in the Department of Mines and Geology. It also aims to train researchers capable of solving and finding solutions to problems related to the exploitation and stability of mines and/or quarries, waste, toxic materials, and pollution. In addition, the researchers must develop materials and wastes resulting from the management of mines so that they become an added value to society and the economy of the country. In addition, geotechnical engineering allows PhD students to conduct research on the stability of open pits and underground mines. Mineral raw materials are the basis for the functioning of the world economy and the deployment of new technologies. These materials include both: (I) metallic resources including ferrous and non-ferrous metals, precious metals, and rare metals; and (II) non-metallic resources (useful substances) including building materials (sand, gravel, ....) and industrial rocks and minerals (silica, gypsum, kaolin, clay, talc, salt, barite, feldspar, etc.). The need for mineral raw materials in Algeria does not cease growing with the launching of the big building sites in the sectors of housing, transport, industry, and other infrastructures. The research and exploration of new mineral resources and the rational exploitation of existing resources have become essential issues for the economic development of our country. This training will respond to this ever-increasing demand for skills in the field of mineral resources. It is intended to train miners with good knowledge of the mineral resources sector and good practice in the field. The core competencies targeted are the exploitation and valorization of mineral resources and the management of exploration and evaluation projects of mineral resources. This training will also focus on the relationship between terrestrial geodynamics and the development of mineral deposits.
