Algeria is very rich in mineral raw materials, a large part of which remains to be discovered. The mining industry has played and still plays an important role in the country's economy. The exploitation of deposits of mineral raw materials is the basis of future economic development in our country. Algeria has many metalliferous deposits such as hematites, lead -Zinc, gold, etc... The territory also harbors precious mineral occurrences such as gold and diamonds, some polymetallic indices (Zn, Pb, Ca, Ag, As, Ni, etc.), rare earths, platinoids and uranium. The deposits in operation are phosphates, limestone, crystalline dolomites and various building materials. The mining sector therefore represents an important part of the country's economic development. With the reform of this sector, the expected economic, social and financial benefits will be significant in terms of contribution to the national economy, creation of direct and indirect jobs and sustained local development”. However, the exploration, discovery and exploitation of new deposits require specific skills that are not systematically available on the Algerian market. Hence, this training targets large companies operating in the mining sector, such as FERPHOS (iron and phosphates), ENOF (non-ferrous), ENG (aggregates), Steel and Cement, Glass and Ceramics, etc.  At the regional scale, there is also a strong potential for outlets at PME-PMI companies having activities of design offices, consulting firms, material recovery, environmental protection. The Department of Mines and Geology provides two academic masters; one in the field of Valorization of Mineral Resources and another in the field of Mining. Graduates of these two Masters are generally either integrated into the socio-economic environment, particularly within companies in the mining industry or those specializing in the field of water and the environment, or enrolled in the doctoral cycle. The Master's "Valorization of Mineral Resources" aims to train highly qualified and versatile senior executives, who will be equipped with very good technical and scientific knowledge and who can be directly operational, either in the public sector, or in the private sector, or pursue doctoral studies in the field of Valorization of Mineral Resources. Thus, this academic master will play a leading role in the integration into the professional life of students with advanced and specialized training in the mining field, namely: - Mines and quarries, mineral materials, industrial minerals; iron and steel / metallurgy, - Management and processing of minerals and their resulting wastes; - Physico-chemical analysis techniques (Particle size, BET, X-ray diffraction, FTIR, FX, MERO, flotation, ...); -Documentary, statistical and risk analysis techniques; -Costs, quality and deadlines evaluation; -Regulations and their sources and the mining economy; -The rules of Quality, Hygiene, Safety and Environment QHSE; - The quality standards; - The pedagogical and editorial techniques; - Research methodologies. The scientific and technical experience which will be acquired by the students during their training, will allow them a good integration in the various national and international organizations with a mining vocation. Graduates can also join small mining companies as well as design offices. They could create their own company in the field of “Valorization of Mineral Resources”. They can also continue their studies and research in the doctoral cycle.
