The main objective of the training and to understand and describe the functioning of a living organism in its complexity. An organism, a fragment of tissue or even a cell are complex systems. University: A. Mira - Béjaia Faculty: Nature and Life Sciences Department: Biological Sciences of the Environment These systems include many physiological functions that interact with each other. A living organism cannot be reduced to a set of gene sequences, however complete, nor to a quantified set of relationships with its environment; it is the interaction between these two sets that constitutes the object of study of integrative biology applied to animal bio-resources. The Master in Animal Biology combines course sessions, tutorials and experimental work in molecular and cellular biology to illustrate the new tools and concepts of "OMICS" technologies; as well as in the disciplines of Animal Physiology and Ecophysiology to illustrate approaches at the scales of the organism and the population. Multi-scale analysis concepts will be developed in particular with statistical and modeling approaches. Students will be required to process data sets and carry out experiments through examples in animal systems.
