The aim of the program is to educate medical doctors with a high level of professional competence .
The program ensures that students become well-qualified physicians with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in both governmental and private healthcare sectors.
The MBChB program at the College of Medicine, University of Mosul meets the standards of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).
Upon graduation from the CMUM, students will demonstrate competence in the following 4 domains:
I. Knowledge for practice: Demonstrate knowledge of the already established andcontinuously evolving biomedical and clinical sciences which enables them to work and pursue a future carrier in any branch of medicine. In addition, demonstrate an efficient application of this knowledge to patient care.
II. Patient care: Provide patient-centered care that is appropriate and effective for the treatment of health problems and the promotion of health.
III. Interprofessional and Communication Skills: Demonstrate interprofessional and communication skills that result in the effective exchange of information and collaboration with patients, their families and other health professionals. The entry to the Bachelor program is determined through competition between applicants based on their average mark for the secondary school Baccalaureate exam and according to the available bachelor seats. This depends on the annual central entry program run by the ministry.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq set the minimum average mark required for the entry and the number of available seats. There are other entry requirements such as successful medical screening tests and successful pre-entry application interview. for Iraqi nationalities, the student must be a graduate of the sixth grade of middle school , and the student must have a medical examination report, and submit copies of the personal identity or unified national card, residence card, ration card, and personal photos (8 photos) and must have the average of the sixth grade of middle school (100.33), For foreign nationalities, he must submit copies of personal identity and passport and the student submits his approved documents certified by the concerned authorities in his country and the Iraqi embassy or attaché in that country, and the university undertakes the procedures for the validity of the issuance of students' documents within a period of time not exceeding the first academic year and Personal photo, there are three types of application Study in Iraq, 3 types first Free with an average grade 85% as minimum and age not exceed 30 years , second Semi free, with average of 75% grade and age not exceed 33 years old with tuition fees (1830 USD for each stage of study (the study includes 6 stages of study). third :On expense: (3660 USD for each stage of study (the study includes 6 stages of study)). No age and grade limits.
