The postgraduate PhD
program offered by the
college of dentistry aims
to prepare specialized
medical staff in different
dental specialization with
distinguished scientific
and professional level.
This program enhances
and further develop the
MSc level academics at
the college to participate
in the teaching and research tasks at the college. Upon graduation
the ministry of higher
education and scientific
research offers an
academic rank of a
lecturer for the graduating
candidates. The program
also is open for all
dentists holding MSc
degree to apply, in which
upon graduation the
candidate will be a
specialist dentist. The
PhD program is in
dentistry, however it
offers focused
specialization to all
condidates through the
research thesis to be
undertaken with one of a
variety of dental
specialization under the
supervision of world
leading academics form
the college and other
colleges at the university
of Mosul this includes but
not limited to: Oral and
maxillofacial surgery,
prosthetic dentistry,
preventive dentistry,
orthodontics, conservative
dentistry, oral
pharmacology and
microbiology). The
duration of PhD study is
three years (one year for
taught courses and two
years for the research).
The candidate graduates upon submission of their thesis and completion of
the viva defense followed
by acceptance of the
thesis
