•                      Chemistry for Biologists: Basics of organic and inorganic chemistry relevant to biological processes .

•                      Introduction to Education: Foundational concepts in pedagogy, tailored for students aspiring to become educators .

These courses set the stage for more specialized topics, ensuring that students develop a solid scientific base .

Year 2: Core Biological Disciplines

In the second year, students delve deeper into core areas of biology. Courses include:

Microbiology : Study of microorganisms and their roles in ecosystems and human health.

Genetics : Fundamental concepts of inheritance, gene expression, and molecular genetics.

Ecology : Examination of interactions between organisms and their environments.

The inclusion of laboratory sessions enhances students’ practical skills and introduces them to experimental techniques.

Year 3: Specialized Knowledge and Pedagogy

The third year focuses on integrating biological sciences with educational training. Courses include:

Physiology (Plant and Animal) : Understanding biological functions and processes in plants and animals.

Biotechnology : Applications of biology in medicine, agriculture, and industry.

Teaching Methods in Biology : Instruction on effective strategies for teaching biological concepts in schools.

Elective courses allow students to tailor their learning experience to their career aspirations, with options such as immunology, environmental biology, or molecular biology.

Year 4: Advanced Topics and Research

The final year emphasizes advanced biological topics and independent research. Students undertake a capstone project or thesis under faculty supervision. Advanced courses include:

Conservation Biology : Strategies for preserving biodiversity and managing ecosystems.
