This is a three-year part-time programme which provides master-level Clinical Psychologists with advanced academic and clinical training to raise their standards of clinical and academic competence. The programme includes advanced clinical courses and practical training, in addition to the requirement of a clinical thesis research.
In addition to the general application materials, all applicants should submit a thesis proposal in English (2,500 words or above).
Students are required to complete a total of 25 units of courses for graduation, which includes 19 units of required course and 6 units of Advanced Practicum.
Graduate students of this programme have been employed as clinical psychologists in:
- Department of Health,
- Hospital Authority,
- Correctional Services Department,
- Hong Kong Police,
- Social Welfare Department, and
- other non-government organizations.

Admission Requirements
For the Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Education, Doctor of Music, Doctor of Nursing, Doctor of Psychology, Doctor of Business Administration (Chinese), Doctor of Social Science in Applied Social Science Programmes, the applicant shall have:
- a master's degree obtained from a recognized university; or
- a bachelor's degree, normally with Second Class Honours in the upper division or above, and have been registered in a course of study for a master's degree at this University for at least one year and have demonstrated research ability; or
- been registered in a course of study for a doctoral degree at a recognized university for at least one year, and have been approved for admission by the Graduate Council; or
- obtained the degrees of M.B., Ch.B., or equivalent, or under special circumstances, the degree of bachelor, for admission to programmes of the Faculty of Medicine.
In addition to the general requirements of the Graduate School, applicants should:
- possess a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology; and
- have eligibility for membership of the Division of Clinical Psychology, Hong Kong Psychological Society.
- Knowledge of spoken Cantonese and written Chinese is required. (Courses are taught in Cantonese and English.)
All applicants should submit a thesis proposal in English (2,500 words or above).
