This is a four-year part-time taught programme leading to the award of a Doctor of Nursing degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The programme is practice-focused, and students are required to complete 42 units of courses and an Advanced Nursing Practice (ANP) project. This programme is designed to prepare master’s-prepared nurse clinicians and executive leaders for the highest level of clinical practice to improve health and healthcare outcomes, and to translate research into practice. Our students are expected to build on their existing knowledge to develop advanced clinical and leadership expertise in dealing with complex health conditions across the continuum of care.

Admission Requirements
For the Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Education, Doctor of Music, Doctor of Nursing, Doctor of Psychology, Doctor of Business Administration (Chinese), Doctor of Social Science in Applied Social Science Programmes, the applicant shall have:
- a master's degree obtained from a recognized university; or
- a bachelor's degree, normally with Second Class Honours in the upper division or above, and have been registered in a course of study for a master's degree at this University for at least one year and have demonstrated research ability; or
- been registered in a course of study for a doctoral degree at a recognized university for at least one year, and have been approved for admission by the Graduate Council; or
- obtained the degrees of M.B., Ch.B., or equivalent, or under special circumstances, the degree of bachelor, for admission to programmes of the Faculty of Medicine.
In addition to the general requirements of the Graduate School, applicants should
- have a Master of Nursing degree or equivalent obtained from a recognised university; and
- be a registered nurse and normally possess at least two years of post-registration experience; and
- attend an interview (if necessary).
