Our Public History programme, the first of its kind in Hong Kong, equips students with knowledge and practice of Public History. It prepares students to enter and excel in public sectors, in education, in cultural heritage, and in business ventures. Highlights of our programme: Practicality, Experiential Learning, Academic Training and Interdisciplinary and Cross-Cultural Training.
This programme offers training that puts history into practical use, such as cultural tourism, heritage preservation, historic sites and community history research, museum exhibitions, etc. This programme distinguishes itself from other similar programmes by its emphasis on solid training in historical methods and knowledge.
In addition to traditional mode of study in classrooms and campus, this progamme pushes students into heritage sites and community networks. Our experiential learning includes and is not limited to historic site and museum visits, community-based research projects, use of new communication technology in understanding history and promoting heritage, etc.
