According to Goldman Sachs Research in 2023, Generative AI could drive a 7% (or almost US$7 trillion) increase in global GDP and lift productivity growth by 1.5 percentage points over a 10-year period.
CUHK is a top global leader in AI research field. Offered by the Faculty of Engineering, the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MSc AI) Programme aims to train graduates with comprehensive state-of-the-art knowledge and relevant expertise in AI. Upon completion of the Programme, students will not only have solid foundation knowledge in AI, but also have accumulated experience in practical applications and project development, enabling them to apply AI technologies in real life.

Admission Requirements
For a Taught Master’s Programme other than the Executive Master of Business Administration (Executive M.B.A.) Programme, the applicant shall have:
- graduated from a recognized university and obtained a bachelor’s degree, normally with honours not lower than Second Class or achieving an average grade of not lower than “B”; or
- completed a course of study in a tertiary educational institution and obtained professional or similar qualifications equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
In addition to the general admissions requirements of the Graduate School, applicants should preferably have obtained a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science discipline from a reputable university or equivalent professional qualifications. For applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in other disciplines, they must have at least two years of post-qualification working experience which is relevant to the programme.
