The Postgraduate School of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru offers the Doctorate in Sociology, a program that contributes to the training of researchers of excellence with the ability to address theoretical and methodological challenges, and to contribute to the dialogue between different perspectives. The doctorate is aimed at researchers, academics and professionals with a high motivation to contribute to knowledge, innovation and intellectual creativity through research.

The Doctorate in Sociology began in 2011, capitalizing on the experience of the successful Master's program in Sociology that our University has been offering uninterruptedly since 1972. It has a team of researchers with recognized national and international experience in fields such as political sociology, sustainable development, inequality, the environment, socio-environmental conflicts, culture and identity, religion and education. This teaching staff, added to the professional and academic experience of its students, several of them international, will contribute to the theoretical-methodological discussion of contemporary problems, and to the creation of new knowledge. In these years the Doctorate has welcomed researchers from the Peruvian Network of Universities, foreign students from Germany.
