In recent decades, Peru and Latin America have increased the implementation of development policies, the fight against poverty and social inclusion, implying a considerable investment in the sectors of work, health, social security, education, agriculture, mining and environment, as well as projects aimed at reducing poverty levels and care for vulnerable groups such as children and adolescents at risk, older adults, people with disabilities and human groups affected by disasters and violence.

The conduct of these policies demands the development of services, programs and social projects aimed at achieving optimal levels of productivity and quality, which is why social management acquires a preponderant value. In this sense, the professionals in charge of managing them must have training that allows them to face and adapt to the variability posed by the various social scenarios and prepare to assume a strategic and leadership role.

The Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, following its trajectory in the humanistic, social and managerial fields, has offered in the Postgraduate School, since 1999, studies to achieve the Master's degree in Social Management in the face-to-face modality. Likewise, since 2003, in response to institutions, companies and professionals from different parts of the country and abroad, it offers the virtual modality.
