The Master's Degree in Gender Studies seeks to contribute to the training of professionals with critical and analytical skills that allow them to face the demands of our country in relation to gender issues, from an interdisciplinary approach. The master's degree offers a research and professional profile; therefore, it promotes the development of skills for the design, management, monitoring and promotion of equal opportunities in public and private institutions.
Gender Studies constitute one of the fundamental contributions that the social and human sciences have developed to explain, understand and propose responses to inequalities and inequities between men and women in contemporary society.
Developments from critical theory and gender approaches contribute and make complex the look and understanding of gender systems in contexts of great cultural diversity. This entails understanding that gender implies a view that encompasses economic, political, cultural, religious, generational dimensions, among others.
The Master's in Gender Studies is preceded by the Diploma in Gender Studies, which, during twenty years of continuous work and given its  multidisciplinary nature ―through innovative research strategies, with a specific approach and methodologies―, has been the most visible agent of the dissemination of ideas, the production of knowledge and the elaboration of proposals that have renewed both the language and the research topics on gender relations in Peru.
The study plan lasts two years divided into four semesters, after which the students must support a thesis. The curriculum includes theoretical courses, research methodology and also includes thematic courses related to the research topics of the students.
