The doctoral program is the first in the country to be taught jointly by two universities: the Alberto Hurtado University and the Diego Portales University, making available a diverse, multidisciplinary academic body with a recognized trajectory in research in education. OBJECTIVES
Train doctors in Education interested in contributing to the educational field through the production of relevant knowledge that can have an impact both in academic contexts, such as universities, research centers; in professional contexts, such as public bodies and educational centers.
The program will focus on the development of the following lines of research:
Educational policy and social justice - This line includes studies on the educational system, from the social sciences. It is interesting, from this perspective, to examine the production of educational policies, their discourses and debates in the global, national and local space. This line raises, in a transversal way, the question of in / justice practices at the macro, meso and micro levels. Some of the topics addressed refer to studies on educational markets and parental choice; curriculum, standardized assessment and accountability; along with socio-educational inclusion, migrants and gender and sexual identities.
Leadership, teachers and learning - The line groups investigations that look inside the institutions of initial and school education, from the actors and dynamics of leadership, curricular management and pedagogical practices, within the framework of a complex, challenging and dizzying present and future. In addition to this, this line considers research related to the training processes of teachers and kindergarten educators, their work trajectories, their pedagogical, curricular and didactic beliefs and knowledge. Likewise, research is carried out on the beliefs of the students and on the psychology of learning.
Higher education, work and youth trajectories - The line brings together a group of works that study higher education and its ability to respond to the demands and dynamics of the young population and of society as a whole, through national and comparative research. Topics addressed include the governance of higher education and its (de) regulation policies; the processes of massification, segregation and socio-educational inclusion; technical-professional education and the transition processes experienced by students between secondary education, higher education and the world of work.
INTERNSHIPS ABROAD: Candidates will have the opportunity to carry out an internship abroad, which will be validated by compulsory credits contemplated in the study plan.
