UAH is committed to a training that promotes the interdisciplinary integration of Visual Arts for its teaching in Basic and Middle Education, an urgent need in the Chilean educational system. UAH's proposal delves into up-to-date disciplinary and pedagogical knowledge in four training lines: Theory and History of Art, Artistic Practice, Pedagogical Training and Practical Training. For this UAH offers a varied offer of artistic practice courses to enable the teaching of the national curriculum such as Drawing, Painting, Graphics, Volume, Photography, Audiovisual, Architecture and Design and Technology; as well as courses of a solid theoretical training for a contemporary understanding of the history of art and contemporary visual culture.

UAH is part of a network of agreements with 125 universities in Europe, America, Asia and Oceania. This opens the way to academic and cultural mobility for students who, from the third year, can do an exchange semester at a foreign university. The career supports a wide agenda of seminars, talks and relevant meetings linking with academics, artists and educators, such as the Latin American Congress of the International Society of Education through Art (InSEA) held at our university in 2018. Students can apply to University funds to fund visual arts teaching initiatives or your own research projects.
