Neither their disciplinary nor pedagogical knowledge is enough for this. The Master in Mathematics Didactics from the Alberto Hurtado University, comes to answer this need through the contributions that Mathematics Didactics is providing for this, considering the interaction that exists between school and formal mathematics in terms of how address the phenomena of teaching and learning through a didactic analysis of specific content. The objective is for the professional to design, apply and evaluate teaching proposals for a meaningful learning of their students, critically analyzing the mathematics curriculum and fostering continuous reflection on teaching practice in the area. This professional program lasts for 4 semesters. It includes as a central core the didactics by axis: algebra, geometry and numbers, and statistics and Probabilities. These courses are based on didactic analysis, that is, the review of phenomenological, cognitive, conceptual, curricular and historical-epistemological aspects that provide the teacher with the foundations to intervene in the phenomena of the mathematics classroom and internally validate their practice. It is aimed at Teachers of Mathematics, graduates or in the process of graduation, graduates in Mathematics, Teachers of Basic Education.

Admission Requirements
Possess the title of Professor of Mathematics, Professor of Basic Education and / or degree of Bachelor of Education, in Mathematics or Mathematics Education. (Copy duly legalized). The vacancies are filled according to the stages, so no quota is guaranteed for the second and third stages. In special cases, they may apply:
Students of Pedagogy in Mathematics or Bachelor of Mathematics that have not yet finished, whose term of qualification does not exceed one academic semester.
Teachers of Basic Education, who must undergo an admission exam of relevant knowledge of both mathematics and aspects of its didactics (The exam includes a selection of relevant knowledge in school mathematics). In addition, they must be in possession of a professional or bachelor's degree of at least eight semesters.
Preferably, it is required to be in full exercise in an educational establishment or in a related field such as work in educational advisory institutions, publishing houses, among others and that have an impact on the level of secondary education and / or in the second cycle of basic education, as well as in Institutes or Technical Training Centers.
