The Biological Systems and Physical Concepts course allows, depending on the sub-courses, physicist students to acquire training in Biology while pursuing very high-level Physics studies, but also allows students from Biology to acquire a greater conceptual and practical mastery of the physical methods specific to the study of biological systems. At the end of the training, the students have acquired both theoretical and experimental skills that allow them to do a thesis in laboratories whose themes range from pure biology to the physics of soft matter. More specifically, the skills acquired are as follows: - theoretical modeling (during courses in statistical physics, soft matter, polymers) - programming (digital physics projects) experimental skills (particularly in biology during the Genetics Module at the Institut Pasteur and experimental projects), - use of imaging techniques in biophysics (different microscopy, NMR methods, etc.), - group work (experimental projects, digital physics projects, stay in Roscoff), - analysis of articles .
