Nowadays, most complex systems (rockets, planes, trains, electrical plants...) are composite assemblies or made of various materials (metals, polymers, ceramics, concrete...). Designing and developing such systems requires a good knowledge of the general principles that govern the behaviour of materials and structures. The objective of “ MAGIS ” is to provide students with training in the mechanics of materials and structures. Its aim is to establish a relationship between the process, the material, its microstructure and its mechanical properties for advanced industrial applications and innovative processes. It presents a general approach to solid mechanics, as it applies to many different materials (metals, ceramics, glass, composites, polymers, mousse, shape-memory alloys...) to enable students to understand their sizing under complex loading conditions (3D, almost random, anisothermal, multi-physics...). Students receive scientific methodology training that includes experimental characterisation using state-of-the-art tools all the way to the simulation of structures' mechanical behaviour. They also cover modelling deformation mechanisms and the connection between the different phenomena.

- Detailed description and hourly volume of courses taken since the beginning of the university program.
- All transcripts of the years / semesters validated since the high school diploma at the date of application.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Motivation letter.
- Choice sheet of M2 (obligatory for the candidates registered in M1 at the University Paris-Saclay) to download on universite-paris-saclay.fr
- Certificate of French (compulsory for non-French speakers). (Si vous êtes Francophone, chargez juste un PDF contenant "je suis francophone" car ...)
- Certificate of English level (compulsory for non-English speakers). (If you're english native speaker, just upload a PDF with "I'm english native speaker because... ")
- VAP file (obligatory for all persons requesting a valuation of the assets to enter the diploma).
