Chemistry and Biology are closely related disciplines. Chemistry is the science that explores the transformation of matter at macro and microscopic levels. Life sciences study the biological processes of living organisms. These processes depend on the interactions between atoms, molecules and compounds that make up living tissues and the environment in which life takes place. Chemistry makes it possible to describe and explore these processes at the molecular level. A good understanding of the two disciplines and their interactions is an asset in responding to scientific and societal challenges in essential areas such as public health, the environment, food and energy.
This Double-Diploma License "Chemistry, Life Sciences" aims to offer students a complete training in the fields of Chemistry and Biology. It will enable them to acquire a base of fundamental skills in these two disciplines. The educational path will be designed for students with an excellent initial background in science and who will be ready to make a significant effort. Beyond the theoretical and practical skills reinforced in biology and chemistry, the body of knowledge will include complementary notions of mathematics and applied physics but also of computer science and bio-informatics.
