This training is distinguished from training in Foreign Languages ​​and Civilizations by its balanced nature, in a mono or bidisciplinary training, whose scientific orientations fall within the field of cultural and heritage studies.  It aims to train students in the methodologies of research applied to the cultures of English-speaking and Spanish-speaking countries and to familiarize them with the mastery of techniques for the dissemination and promotion of research, and this in the two foreign languages ​​taught, English and Spanish.
The personal research project is the backbone of training in research through research. The student will be supervised by his research director during the 4 semesters of the training. The modules of UE1 and 2 will allow the student to base his personal project on the acquisition of skills necessary for its realization. The fundamental research seminars given in the UE3 will allow the student to deepen his cultural knowledge, by approaching them in thematic axes, and to nourish his scientific reflection.
From S1, in coherence with his research project and his professional prospects, the student personalizes his training course by selecting in the UE3 Fundamental Research fundamental research seminars, among the disciplinary and bidisciplinary offer organized in blocks themes backed by the research axes of the two DYPAC and CHCSC laboratories: Transatlantic circulations, Tangible and intangible heritage, Memory and History, Visual cultures, Interculturality, Books and the materiality of texts. The graduate will thus be able to benefit from training in cultural and heritage studies, backed by the practice of research and disciplinary (CNU11 or CNU14) or bidisciplinary (CNU11 and CNU14) anchoring. In the perspective of a thesis pursuit; he could for example be encouraged to choose a dominant course in the targeted discipline, the choice of the English or Spanish LV1 prefiguring the discipline of end of study diploma.
