The course offers training centered on the acquisition of cross-disciplinary skills and a strong reflective capacity to think about and  support the ecological transition of agricultural and food systems at the territorial level. The associated issue of knowledge production requires consideration of all forms of knowledge mobilized. The course integrates a North/South reflection essential at the time of the globalization of environmental problems and food security.
This training is organized around a "total ecology" of socioecosystems, entities by definition territorialized, where the dynamics  of interactions between physical, biological, technical, economic, social, political and cultural dimensions are treated without hierarchy. This objective imposes to position itself at the interfaces between ecology, social sciences and agronomic sciences. Observation and critical analysis postures are facilitated by the diversity of student profiles in the course, which equally associates students from biological sciences, biotechnical sciences and human and social sciences.
