The Life Sciences (LS) Portal offers undergraduate programs in fields related to the environment, biodiversity, biomedical research, plant health, and understanding the fundamental mechanisms of life. Integrated within this portal, the Life Sciences Bachelor's degree covers all areas of life sciences and allows for progressive specialization, enabling students to make an informed choice of specialization for their second or third year.

The curriculum is complemented by skills in Chemistry and Mathematics, combined with Physics or Computer Science. The objective is to acquire an experimental approach and scientific rigor in order to solve research problems within the chosen field.

Upon completion of this Bachelor's degree, you will be able to apply to Master's programs in specialized fields such as life sciences, health, medical engineering, biotechnology, nutrition, agri-food, plant breeding, marine resources, and the environment.

ORGANIZATION AND COURSE

At the end of the first year (L1), the student will choose to continue either in the general track or in one of the two tracks preparing students for teaching professions.

  • Becoming a Science Teacher Training Program (formerly CLE2D)
  • Preparation course for the Competitive Examination for Recruitment of Primary School Teachers (CRPE) (formerly CLE1D)

At the end of the second year (L2),  for those who have chosen the general track, the degree allows them to specialize in one of the biology tracks in their third year (L3):

  • L3 Bio-Informatics (BioInfo) Track
  • L3 Biology of Organisms and Ecosystems (BOE) program
  • L3 Biochemistry Physiology Neurobiology (BPN) Track
  • L3 Molecular Biology and Genetics (BMG) Track
  • L3 Professional Environment Knowledge Track (CMP)

At the end of the second year of undergraduate studies (L2 ), students can continue with a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences (SV), pursue a professional Bachelor's degree, or enter an engineering school.

The Life Sciences degree also offers a LAS ( Health Access Degree ) option, accessible from the first year (L1) via Parcoursup, which can also be followed in the second and third years (L2 and L3):

  • Bioinformatics Access to Health (BioInfo-LAS)
  • Molecular Biology and Genetics Health Access (BMG-LAS)
  • Biochemistry Physiology Neurobiology Health Access (BPN-LAS)

Required training(s)
  • The majority of students apply to the Life Sciences (SV) Bachelor's degree program after completing a general baccalaureate with a specialization in Mathematics or Life Sciences (SVT) with a choice of Mathematics or Physics-Chemistry. The program also recruits students from technological tracks, particularly Biochemistry-Biology-Biotechnology or Physical or Chemical Laboratory Sciences. Students from other fields may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Students experiencing difficulties will be placed in a "conditional" program, which provides personalized support and tutoring (in this case, the first year is completed over two years), but with a genuine chance of success.
