Presentation and objectives of the training

  • The STAPS APAS degree program is designed for students who wish to support individuals with limited physical, psychological, or social abilities (people with disabilities, chronic illnesses, and/or those experiencing social integration difficulties and aging) in improving their quality of life through physical, sporting, or artistic activity. A versatile profile combining a good level of athletic ability, a scientific background, and personal commitment is therefore essential.
  • The objective of the training is to train professionals capable of applying multidisciplinary scientific knowledge in order to provide APA (Adapted Physical Activity) support to practitioners with specific needs.
  • Upon completion of the program, students will be able to work within an institutional framework related to Adapted Physical Activity (APA) professions (public hospital service, private for-profit or non-profit sector). They will be able to, among other things, develop an APA project, conduct assessments, design a personalized program, lead a session, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team.
