The Master's program in Fundamental Physics & Applications trains professional scientists capable of working in both fundamental research and engineering. It naturally opens the door to pursuing a doctoral thesis in (astrophysics) in France or Europe, potentially with joint supervision from an industrial partner.

Graduates can also apply for highly versatile and adaptable engineering positions in R&D. The Master's program consists of two tracks exploring two branches of physics at contrasting scales:

  • Master track in Astrophysics (MAUCA) :  a high-level international master's program in astrophysics, based on immersive learning in research laboratories, in close collaboration with leading experts through teaching modules called METEORs.
  • Waves, Atoms, Matter (OAM) track : training by and for research, with complete immersion in research laboratories on the French Riviera for a future as a PhD in physics, researcher, lecturer-researcher or engineer, in public or private institutions
  • Master in Astrophysics and Space Science (MASS) program : an intersectoral, research-oriented Master's program covering six areas: gravitation and cosmology, stellar astrophysics, exoplanets, astrophysical techniques, astrostatistics and Big Data, as well as space science.
  • Optics, Photonics, Instrumentation, Quantum (OPTIQ) track :  training that encompasses the major areas of modern photonics within its curriculum and is part of a creative, stimulating and innovative academic and industrial environment.
