The Sexual Dissidence MA is an interdisciplinary course in LGBTQ+/Queer Studies. Founded in 1991, it was one of the first programmes of its kind in the world. Today, we continue to build on its history of innovation.
You’ll learn to bring a radical, contemporary, global approach to the study of sexuality. You’ll also learn to think intersectionally, exploring how the issues we encounter day to day occupy the crossroads of categories such as gender, sexuality, race, class, ability and nation.
You’ll study with engaged faculty and students, focussing on questions of identity, politics and social justice, and develop your own research on sexuality across global, historical and contemporary contexts.

- Subject-specific requirements: Your qualification should normally be in a subject relevant to your chosen Masters course. You may also be considered for the course if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.
