From climate change and sustainability policy to disasters and food insecurity, you'll explore how people, places, and environments are connected, and how we can build more sustainable and equitable futures.
Through this course, you will:
- understand the extent of environmental degradation and its root causes, enabling you to assess the societal, economic, and ecological impacts
- learn to identify critical points of intervention
- be able to develop informed, evidence-based solutions to mitigate or prevent further harm
- connect with policy-makers and practitioners.
You’ll learn from faculty members driving real-world change. Your studies will combine both physical and human Geography, to investigate how natural processes and human activities interact across our planet.
Our campus is located between the bustling city of Brighton and the South Downs National Park, and beside the sea. We will take advantage of this location through field trips. You'll also get the opportunity to go on trips to destinations such as Beijing, Los Angeles, Marseille and Corsica or the Greek Islands.
You’ll build a powerful analytical toolkit, from critical thinking to data literacy and research design, to communicate complex ideas. You can also boost your employability through integrated work experience, digital and data accelerator programmes or study abroad years.
You’ll graduate with skills in demand with employers, including data literacy, green skills and understanding of sustainability challenges.
