The Arts and Cultural Management MA degree will study UK and international arts funding models. Students will learn about the impact of heritage and regeneration policies on regional and national identity. On this MA, students will discover the benefits of arts engagement in education, health and prison settings. Apart from that, students will investigate how issues of diversity are played out in museums. This course is part of the Sheffield Institute of Arts. Students are supported to secure voluntary work experience with a range of partner organisations. These have included Museums Sheffield, Sheffield Industrial Heritage Museums, Sheffield Theatres, Site Gallery, the National Caribbean Heritage Museum and several festival producers. Field trips are also integrated to this MA and students may go on study visits to vibrant cultural centres such as: Glasgow, Liverpool, Hull, Leeds and Manchester (some additional costs apply). These visits are complemented by visiting lectures from a range of well-established sector professionals from the visual and performing arts, heritage and community arts sectors.
