On this course, students will learn how to be a self-reliant businessperson — starting their own enterprise with support from expert staff, and getting ready for the next steps in their career. Initially, the course is based around entrepreneurial capabilities. This helps students recognise their creative potential and resourcefulness, and translate ideas into actions. Students will also study business concepts such as accessing finance, creating a marketing plan and undertaking customer research. Finally, students will undertake an applied research project focusing on their own design-orientated business idea, alongside a Sheffield Hallam coach and a mentor from an external organisation.
