The Department of Food Industries is one of the newly established departments at the Faculty of Agriculture by the decision of His Excellency the minister of higher education for the year 2022 under the name of the Department of Food Industries. The Department grants a bachelor's degree in food science after a four-year study divided into eight semesters, provided that the student passes the first and second semesters through the preliminary stage. The department provides a high-quality quality of education and training to prepare graduates and scientifically qualified researchers with the latest information and scientific skills.
The department aims to :
* Preparing specialized technical cadres in the field of food science who can work in the fields of food safety, manufacturing processes, or quality control from chemical, microbiological, or sensory aspects.
* These cadres can work in the fields of food Development Research and improvement of its properties and in the field of raising the economic yield of raw materials and protecting the environment from pollution. This is done through teaching and conducting scientific and Applied Research.
* Qualifying and preparing students at all stages to be able to follow and continue their educational achievements through scientific research programs or applications in government and private factories.
* Participate in the development of skills necessary for the development of food products by the wishes of the consumer and the health and safety of food.
* Holding training and guidance courses to raise the scientific and practical competence of workers in the field of food industries.
