The Department of sociology was established in response to the region's needs of qualified scientific competencies in order to contribute to the overall development process in various social fields of society. The department offers a bachelor's degree in sociology with a regular quarterly system, and aims to provide students with basic knowledge in the specialty and qualify them for teaching and scientific research. Department vision: Excellence in the study of social phenomena and social problems and their treatment and the qualification of Cognitive, Research, and professional specialists to contribute to the development and service of society. Department message : Continuous development in the fields of teaching, training, and scientific research through strategies, academic programs, and partnerships with various sectors of society. Objectives of the Department: The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology program seeks to achieve academic goals in the fields of education and scientific research and community goals related to serving the University and society training students and preparing them for the labor market in Libyan society, the most important of these goals are determined in : 1. The study of human societies is a scientific study 2. Identify social theories and employ them in understanding phenomena and solving problems 3. Acquire skills, methods, and skills of scientific research and employ them in addressing community issues. 4. Building a common personality, strengthening identity and journey of belonging from old cultures and Customs to form new civilizations. Program outputs : * Understands the elements of the social system * Analyzes the characteristics of his local community * Discusses recent developments in sociology * Employs theoretical frameworks in the explanation of phenomena and social problems * Uses statistical package programs (spss) to analyze community issues. * Designs a research project related to an issue specific to the reality of his local community * Performs additional volunteer work to serve the community

Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the college, the applicant must meet the following requirements:
1. The applicant must possess a General Secondary Certificate in either the scientific or literary department or an equivalent qualification.
2. The applicant must be in good health, free from infectious diseases, and have the physical fitness to participate in both theoretical and practical classes. If the applicant is a non-Libyan, they must be a resident of Libya for the duration of their studies at the college and comply with all admission requirements.
3. If the applicant is a non-Libyan, they are required to pay tuition fees and expenses as per the current regulations at the universities, taking into account the signed agreements on reciprocity. Before beginning their studies, the student must complete the college's forms, including the personal data form, and pledge to attend lectures and abide by the regulations governing the department.
