The Department of Soil and Water is a scientific department within the Faculty of Agriculture at Sabha University. The department offers both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Soil and Water Sciences.

The department was established in 1989/1990 to study soil and water, which are considered the most important natural resources in the world. The department seeks to prepare specialized graduates in the fields of soil and water to contribute to the development of agriculture and combat desertification. The department is also committed to linking the university with the community by contributing to research and providing scientific consultations.

The department has a vision to excel in soil and water sciences and their applications. It aims to prepare qualified agricultural graduates to meet the needs of the labor market and become one of the most distinguished departments in the region. The department also seeks to conduct applied studies and research to serve the community and enhance environmental development, especially in dry and desert areas.

The study program at the Department of Soil and Water consists of general subjects totaling 57 units, followed by specialized courses comprising 50 mandatory units and 33 units of mandatory courses related to the specialty. The department also offers 6 units of elective courses within the department and 9 units of elective courses outside the department. The goal of the study program is to prepare graduates who are qualified to work in both the public and private sectors and who can address soil and water problems to achieve the highest production while managing natural resources of soil and water with high efficiency.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the veterinary department, students must complete at least 30 units of courses from the general direction department. This includes soil and water course.
