Initially, the Faculty of Law was established in Barak City by a decision issued by the general people's committee - previously - No. 147 of 1997, which is one of the colleges affiliated to Sabha University, and after a decision was issued No. 367 of 2022 on upgrading the classrooms to independent faculties, the college moved to Sabha city, the college received the first batch of students at the beginning of the academic year 1997-1998, the number of employees in the administrative and technical apparatus of the college is about (15) employees, while the number of faculty members at the college is about (16) members, including number of (5) doctoral qualifications, and (11) Master's qualifications. The college includes four departments, namely: the Department of Public Law, the Department of Private Law, the Criminal Law Department, and the Sharia Department. The college adopts the annual system and the study courses are distributed over four years. The scientific degree granted by the college: bachelor.
College vision: The Faculty of Law should become the most distinguished university in Sabha at the local and regional levels in the preparation of legal cadres, and the development of education systems in the field of law through conducting research in the fields of this specialization in a way that reflects on the Libyan society. The message of the college: The Faculty of Law at Sabha University should provide a graduate who competes scientifically and professionally at the local level to raise the scientific and professional level of cadres through the field of legal education and contribute to a distinctive academic program that serves sustainable development in the Libyan society. College objectives: - Providing an integrated educational program with the latest scientific quality standards to provide legal outputs that meet the needs of society and are capable of international competition. - Continuous evaluation of the educational process and ensuring that its objectives are achieved in preparing graduates who can develop and update their information and skills in a manner commensurate with the requirements of the labor market, as well as their excellence in graduate studies for those who wish them. - Opening a field for postgraduate studies and scientific research and organizing scientific courses and conferences to keep pace with scientific progress in the field of law, thus contributing to the development and development of services in society. - Encourage communication with the corresponding faculties and try to make the most of their experiences. - The formation of a legal scientific Hall, the formation of a reference to explain the laws. - Providing legal consultations in all fields at the University. Admission Requirements
For admission of a student to the Faculty of law, the following is required: 1-the student must have a certificate of completion of the secondary stage or the equivalent of the certificates recognized by the competent recognition authority. 2-be fit and healthy, free from infectious diseases and able to continue studying at the college. 3-be of good conduct and good morals. 4-he should not be dismissed from one of the university colleges for any reason. 5-to undertake to comply with the regulations and regulations in force in the college. 6-to pass the entrance exams and the personal interview successfully, and the priority is for the latest graduates. 7-if the applicant is a non-Libyan, he must be a regular resident of the country for the duration of the study. 8-he must have the approved percentage of admission to the college according to the system specified by the University
