The Department of Islamic Studies is a significant department within the Faculty of Education at AL-Tarifa. It was established in the academic year 2006-2007, under the name of the Department of Arabic Language (a division of Quranic Sciences), and consists of 12 faculty members, four repeaters who are at the study stage, 16 male and female students (two males and 14 females), and 10 graduates.
The primary objectives of the Department are to prepare students and equip them with a high level of knowledge and skills, develop their scientific and research abilities, and qualify them for enrollment in graduate programs at home and abroad. The Department also aims to establish the correct doctrine in the souls of students, instill the correct faith as the motivation for action, help students understand the meanings of the Holy Quran, and identify the methods of interpretation, its controls, approaches, and rules. Students are also provided with insight into the linguistic and rhetorical aspects of the verses, and lessons learned from them are linked to the reality of life so that students can study the Holy Quran according to correct controls.
The Department also aims to build the Arab-Islamic personality by instilling the belief that the Holy Quran commands justice, equality, and humility, and forbids exaggeration and religious extremism in religion and the world, and urges to take responsibility. The principles of the Islamic religion are consolidated by instilling in students the etiquette of dealing with the hadiths of the Prophet, understanding the dogmas and morals through them, establishing the conditions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), taking lessons and lessons from the prophetic biography, and knowing their importance in spreading the call.
The Department's vision is to strive for performance excellence, achieve quality standards in the field of teaching and scientific research, and build national elements capable of actively contributing to the service of religion and the homeland. The approach of moderation and moderation is promoted, and the concepts of the correct religion are consolidated away from hyperbole and extremism. The Department also aims to spread awareness among citizens outside the classrooms, purify customs and traditions from any legitimate violations, and contribute directly to solving the problems of society related to education, culture, development, and all issues of society.

To apply for a program in this department, the student must meet the following requirements:
- Completion of the secondary stage with a literary specialty certificate. - A good overall rating of at least 65%. - Being in good health and fitness. - Taking an educational entrance exam.
