The requirements of the M.S. degree in Special Education are: A minimum of 30 hours of acceptable graduate work, including at least 6 approved credit hours in academic fields outside the major department, and 24 hours of other courses approved by the student’s supervisory committee. Successful completion of a qualifying examination to advance to candidacy for the degree. This examination is designed and evaluated by the student’s supervisory committee. Successful completion of a thesis, representing at least 6 credit hours of the work completed for the degree. The proposal and final thesis must be approved by the student’s supervisory committee. Students are required to complete a public oral defense of their thesis.
