The Bachelor's Program in Literature obtained the High Quality Institutional Accreditation by the Ministry of National Education for a period of four years (2017-2021) through Resolution 26333 of the MEN of November 24, 2017.
The curricular structure of the Bachelor's Degree in Literature Academic Program is flexible and based on a credit system that requires the approval of a minimum number of 170 credits and is based on four closely related components: General foundations, Specific and disciplinary knowledge, Pedagogy and Didactics of the disciplines. The curricular modification of the Program presented here was approved in 2019, based on Resolution 18583 of September 15, 2017 issued by the Ministry of National Education (MEN), which adjusts the quality characteristics for undergraduate programs for obtaining, renewal or modification of the qualified registration; and based on Resolution 136 of December 22, 2017 of the Universidad del Valle, that regulates the conditions for the creation and reform of undergraduate training programs. Although this curricular modification responds to ministerial and institutional demands, it took into account the suggestions of the professorial and student classes for its consolidation in what has to do with new subjects that would give answers to the social, cultural and political contexts of the region.
