The overall objective of the Foreign Languages (English and French) program is to train a graduate in foreign languages ​​with an emphasis on English and French, who is an autonomous and creative comprehensive professional, who can teach these two languages ​​in basic secondary education and secondary education, who is a linguistic and cultural mediator with a social vision of languages ​​and cultures, who knows the educational reality of our country and who carries out his academic activity with critical awareness and ethical commitment.
Specific objective
  • Develop in the student body a basic comprehensive socio-cultural competence (individual, society, culture, literature, history, etc.) typical of both foreign languages ​​and the mother tongue.
  • Develop a communicative competence in English and French, which allows the future graduate not only to understand the structure, operation and function of languages ​​at all levels (phonetic, phonological, morphological, syntactic, semantic, pragmatic and discursive), but also use both languages ​​as a means of communication; and that it can also approach the teaching and learning of languages ​​in a conscious and systematic way.
  • Develop a pedagogical and didactic competence, which allows him to detect, analyze and adequately solve the problems that arise, using the means available to him to carry out his work, including technological resources and being aware of the differences in the learning capacity of the student. student body.
  • Develop investigative skills and competencies that allow them to investigate, reflect and discuss problems related to the teaching of foreign languages ​​and other disciplinary knowledge.
  • Develop aptitudes and organizational skills that allow them not only to actively participate in institutional educational projects, but also to contribute to the design of development projects for the teaching and learning of foreign languages.
